How Your Dress Tells About Your Personality
Dress has always been the most important aspect of one’s personality. It is the dressing style which gives the first general impression about a person; it reflects the person’s status, nature as well as habits. A well dressed person always has an edge over other people. The good dressing style of a person is very important to give a solid impression and make other people respect him.
The young generation is generally very conscious about their dressing style mainly because they want to look good and impress others with their charisma. The teenagers usually try to corroborate the dress wear as of celebrities and public figures. Young guys and girls tend to follow popular fashion to look more stylish and updated.
Fashion designers do matter a lot in developing fashion lines but most of the times it the celebrities that are followed when it comes to wearing anything casual or formal. The reason is that people take them as fashion representatives and try to match their personality with theirs. The dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in the movie “The Seven Year Itch” was copied by the girls all over the world. The gangster look given out by Al Pachino in “The Godfather” was followed by millions of people and has not gone out of vogue even today. Even the hair style of Ronaldo in 2003 world cup and of David Beckham was copied by the guys all over the world.
The one most important thing that most of the people forget while copying the styles of celebrities is that they lose their own personality. Their own personality is driven away by the style of someone else and it leaves other people confused about who you really are and what you bring along. The general impression that such personalities create is that they are following someone else dressing style and have no taste of their own.
On the other hand if you develop your own style, always remember it is only you who knows that what type of dress and color suits you, if you figure out the dressing secret of your personality than wherever you go, the first thing that will come in other people mind when they see you is ‘well dressed’.
It is not necessary to be too selective or too conscious about your dress, it is important to realize that all you need to do is to wear something that fits in event you are attending. For instance if you go to school wearing your casual home dress then anyone who sees you in school will think that you don’t belong to this school.
Similarly, if you go to a party you must wear something that actually reflects the nature of the party like you cannot go to an evening party wearing t-shirt and denims; you need to wear something to suit the occasion like a three piece suit of the color which suits your skin complexion. With such dressing everyone who doesn’t know you will conclude that you have taste and class which is always appreciated.
On the other hand, someone wearing t-shirt and jeans will gather conclusion about his personality as raw and rugged. Similarly you cannot go to an outing or on picnic wearing a tuxedo; you need to wear something casual so that you feel comfortable in it throughout the day.
So, remember three things:
- Wear what suits the event.
- Dress up according to your taste and style.
- Learn what suits you and nature and dress according to that.
