Weight Loss by Diet Control – Lost Relationship Motivation Success Story
It is not until when you lose something that you realize its importance and strength. The key factor of my weight loss success story is healthy diet. Me and my ex fiancé were engaged for two years and before that we had a courting period of four and a half years. When you stay this long with a person you get mentally attached to him or her and sometimes start taking them for granted.
Having him around made me feel as he would go nowhere. However I looked and whatever I did, it would not affect him. But that’s not true. Physical appearance does matter, and it matters a lot! My putting on weight was a great turn off for him. It was so bad that he broke off our relationship and moved away. I was devastated and didn’t know how to react. But I took the right way! Instead of mourning and weaning on what I had lost, I focused on why I lost! It was my being overweight. So the next step was to kill the reason through diet.
I researched from family and friends and gathered information on how to start and what to do. After comparing many options and weighing their pros and cons I started the Atkins Diet. My diet plan allows me to have lean meats and white grilled pieces like salmon and other types of steamed fish. Chicken is also a good source of proteins in this form of dieting. The plan also stresses on increasing the intake of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. So I ate loads of fruits and salads during snack times when I was hungry.
What I needed to avoid was all forms of refined carbohydrates. Be it bread, cakes, biscuits or anything with sugar, it was all a big no no for me. Sodas and fizzy drinks along with canned food were stricken off the list of foods to be engulfed. I could take in hand full of nuts on daily basis to fulfill my need for essential fats called omega 3 fatty acids. Occasionally I did a little cheating on the diet and went for a good fast food meal or snacks. But I only did this once a month. This was like a reward for me.
In addition to my regular diet plan I also went for a jog in the evening and love working out on the treadmill. All the sweating and running made my skin glow and I felt healthy as ever.
My body is well toned now and I have a great figure. Comparing the charts and figures, I have lost 60 pounds in 7 months and my waist is now a super 27 inches than the 36 that I had few months ago. Socializing with new people is not an odd deal for me anymore. I am not conscious of my weight and appearance anymore. But I do regret not following this regime earlier in my life. That way I would not have lost what I did because of my weight issues.
What I mean by my own weight loss success story is that you wont be living on restricted diet forever if you start controlling your diet today. But, if you don’t do it today, you will regret doing the same for the rest of your days. It does not matter how much money you have or how many friends you have, what matters the most is that how you feel. And to feel great, you need to look good. By controlling your diet, you wont lose weight just overnight or within weeks, but you will definitely feel way better as you regain your healthy lifestyle.
