Weight Management for Bloggers

When it comes to weight loss and weight management, statistics are very dangerous. Almost 2 Billion people out of the total of 7.4 Billion people of the world are overweight or obese. Going on the other side of the picture, around 1 Billion people of the world are world are suffer from malnutrition. Another element to consider here is the global poverty line, which is almost half of the world’s population. Almost 3 Billion people live below $2.5 a day. What this leaves behind is a figure of mere 1.3 Billion people. It is quite easy to see the figures and know where you stand.

Weight loss and weight management are some of the most alarming health conditions in the world and almost everyone needs help at one stage of their lives. However, when it comes to bloggers and IT people the numbers are higher. Reasons being extended hours on your desk, consumption of junk food and soft drinks round the clock. And of course not much physical activity is one of the major causes that make most bloggers become overweight in just a few months, which of course is bad.

When you are blogging or developing new content for the world to see and admire you, the temptation of being a workaholic is so high that you don’t want to move from your desk. When this becomes a routine, you don’t know when you started to feel alienated to the real social world. If you have been a blogger for some time, you know this all happens and most of the times you do not know that how far have you come from being a healthy person.

And you know, if you do not go out, socialize with real people, discuss ideas and stuff with other people, gradually your ideas and versatile brain is going to fade away. This slowly kills your creativity and capability to work. So what should you do to start living healthy lifestyle again?

Get up Early in the Morning and Flex Your Body:

The most fundamental weight loss and weight management tip you are going to get is to get up early in the morning and flex your body. Not 8 or 9 in the morning but when the sun comes out. This is very important and saves you a lot of time.

Of course you might say that you are not able to work during the day, there are so many distractions, you cannot focus on your work and what not. If you be honest with yourself, the distractions are only in your brain and you are creating them yourself. When you get up early in the morning, you will feel fresh and energized the whole day and you will get more accomplished.

Just a few days into getting up early in the morning and you will see that the days will feel longer and there is so much you can fill into it. This cannot be done when you are awake during the night.

Adding some physical activity to your body early on helps in getting the muscles of your body to stretch and get rid of the stiffness that might be there. Because of this, you are going to sense a lot of energy through out the day.

Do Not Go Right to Your Desk:

Going right to work after getting up makes your day dull and boggy and you never get things done on time. Most bloggers and web entrepreneurs who sleep with their laptop on the side table of the bed, the first thing they do in the morning is scan for emails and updates on their work. This kills the whole day.

When you start your day this way, you reconnect to your previous day and your brain starts working from there. This kills all the new ideas that you might of have had about what you are doing. Plus, you are not able to think critically of what you are doing. You unconsciously ignore a lot of positive additions you could have in your work and the negative aspects you should have had left out.

So, when you wake up, do not bother taking even a peek at your work. Get out of bed, freshen up, go out and feel the fresh air.

Do not Skip Breakfast For Good Weight Management:

If you want to be the future Warren Buffet, Bill Gates or Elon Musk, you need to do a lot of work. And working requires energy. For that, do not skip your breakfast. In fact, you should have a healthy breakfast that has all the essential nutrients in it.

Skipping breakfast has a lot of adverse effects on your health. When you start working with an empty stomach. You start with half of your energy, and your start losing interest too soon. Also, you start feeling hungry around noon and then you order something like pizza, burger or munch on snacks. All of them are not good for your health put a negative effect on your weight loss and weight management.

On the other hand, taking a good healthy breakfast gets you through more than half of the day. You feel energized and will be able to better concentrate on your work.

Socialize With Other People Who are Not Bloggers or IT People:

Once in a week, it is good to go out and meet with other people who don’t do the same thing as you do. By meeting other people, you know what is going on around you, how other businesses and other people are living and knowing common problems. Of course you can get it all over the Internet, but in-person experience gives a much better 2-way perspective of what people need. Interact with people who are marketers, businessmen and mangers or entrepreneurs. People of these professions meet different people and you can get a lot from them.

How can it help in your weight management? Well, everything you do would obviously consume energy and therefore burn calories. Also if feels good and refreshing and you remain active.

Stay Away From Junk Food:

For a blogger to stay away from junk food is like asking you not to eat at all. But it only looks that way. Next time when you go grocery shopping, remove the sausages and ready-to-oven food items from your list. Instead add vegetables and fresh fruits to your cart. Also, do not add snacks and packed edibles. Just a few would be fine in case of a real emergency but nothing that you would count as meals.

Bloggers work on computers all day so they know what deals and discounts are being offered by all the fast food chains. This can be very tempting and you have to stay away from it all. Add fruits, vegetables, make yourself a green salad and have it while you work. It will definitely help you a lot.

Move Around After Every Hour :

When you are working on your workstation, you sit glued to your chair for hours in a single stretch, which is really bad for your health. It weakens your muscles, backbone, nervous system, eyes and thus your overall health.

An essential aspect of your weight management is that you get up from your chair and move around a bit after an hour or so. I do not mean that you have to setup an alarm and get out of your chair when it rings. While you are brainstorming new ideas or thinking of words to express what you think, it is better to move away from your chair and flex your body while you think about work.

Workout for 20-30 Minutes in the Evening.

Most bloggers find it so hard to actually get ready to go to a gym to workout. Get a used treadmill and elliptical machines from eBay, which wont cost much, and get it in your home. Working out around 30 minutes per day will help you burn all the extra fat that you have loaded over your body over time.

An important aspect of weight management for a blogger is that you cannot set a daily work schedule that when you have to work or when you have to workout. You just have to make sure that you make a daily schedule of what you have to do and make sure that all of that is done by the end of the day.
